Job Description

The Opportunity | Designer
Perform complete valve designs including layout, detail and assembly drawings. Prepare bills of material for the product including specifications and/or identification of hardware. Perform clearance/stack-up analysis of new and existing product designs to ensure both fit and function of the product. Interacts with Project/Design Engineers, Manufacturing, and Quality Control to design and develop optimum technical, manufacturable, and inspectable product. Consults with Company's sales/marketing personnel to determine customer's market needs and preferences for the products.



Your Challenge:



  • Prepare layouts, assembly and detail drawings for new or improved products.

  • Prepares clearance/stack-up studies to ensure fit and function of product

  • Selects and recommends material and hardware for new product designs

  • Prepares Design/Drawings in accordance with both Company's procedures and design standards (ie. ASME Y 14.5, ASME Y 14.100 and MIL-STD-100)

  • Consults with applicable personnel to determine compliance of new design to Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing/Sales specifications

  • 3D Solid Modeling of components and assemblies as applicable to support Sales/Operation activities

  • Perform analysis and calculations as required to support and justify Designs

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor


Your Expertise:



  • Minimum of two (2) years of CAD and engineering design experience related to designing new products from concept layout to detailed drawings for manufacturing (2D and 3D CAD).

  • Strong analytical capability, able to perform tolerance/fit-up, structural, and fluid analyses

  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, NX, MathCAD, and ANSYS

  • College or trade school education in mechanical drawing and related areas

  • Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear) preferred
