Location:  Remote:  Canada or the United States

This position will be responsible for the Global Marketing Group in the Defense Solutions Division of Curtiss-Wright. The right individual will manage a team consisting of four Marketing Leaders: Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Integrated Campaigns and Communication. The Director role reports into the Vice President of Strategic Planning who reports to the Sr. VP/GM of Defense Solutions.

Your Challenge:

Direct the overall marketing and communications organization and strategy for the Defense Solutions division of Curtiss-Wright with the goal of driving sales and build brand awareness across multiple businesses and product lines. This includes developing an overall marketing plan, approving campaigns, and measuring the return on investment of various marketing initiatives and activities.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Review current marketing trends and advertisements to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies
  • Analyze sales numbers in comparison to the marketing budget in order to find the profit margin and which campaigns were most effective
  • Research competitors to stay current with similar products or services on the market
  • Work with both the sales and business units to develop successful strategies and campaigns that attract new customers and keep current clients
  • Collaborate with other executives to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and the direction of the company
  • Create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts customers to the product or service
  • Develop marketing strategies for new products or services that comply with current company standards

Your Expertise 

  • Career marketing professional desired with a minimum of 15 years' experience.
  • Although an experienced hire, must be welcoming to being coached by peers, management, and other key stakeholders.
  • Currently in tech or telecom Industry. By tech we mean organizations like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, Verizon, AT&T, Dell, Cisco. Not consumer tech such as Apple, Facebook, Uber, Amazon Web Services, etc
  • Requires domain knowledge of marketing analytics. Marketing analytics should be part of core experience
  • Correct balance of executive presence but willingness to be a team player and take broad direction from Management, Peers, Business and Sales Leaders, etc.
  • CW Defense Solutions has a new marketing architecture/framework by which to operate - the Director of Marketing will need to help execute against this framework
  • Have a strong bias towards execution and operating based on pre-set, measurable results
  • Must be an Enterprise Marketing professional in order to fit into CW Defense Solutions' business model. Tech experience needs to be Enterprise in nature where difficult and complex sales, ambiguous customer relationships, complex solutions, and sales are the norm
  • Needs to be a good "Cheerleader". The person needs to reflect the realism but also the optimism of CW leadership and culture
  • Ability and desire to grow into increasingly bigger roles over time
  • Needs to be enthusiastic about working as part of the Defense Industrial Base and have an appreciation of the important work CW Defense Solutions does
