The Opportunity | Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance

The Global Trade Compliance Senior Manager will be the Power Segment lead for Curtiss-Wright's Global Trade Compliance team (GTC). Reporting to the GTC Senior Director, the GTC Senior Manager will be the primary trade compliance resource for Nuclear Division and Electro-Mechanical Systems (EMS) operations located in the U.S. and Canada, responsible for executing the company's trade compliance strategy and ensuring robust risk mitigation management consistent with U.S. and Canadian regulatory requirements.

Your Challenge:

  • Collaborate with GTC management and other Division compliance leads to ensure effective support to all Power Segment operating locations.

  • Implement GTC policies and procedures and serve as subject matter expert for all Curtiss-Wright Power Segment business groups and functions.

  • Design and implement policies and procedures concerning the export and import of items to comply with

    • International Traffic in Arms Regulations -- Directorate of Defense Controls

    • Export Administration Regulations -- Bureau of Industry and Security

    • 10CFR Part 810 -- Department of Energy

    • 10CFR Part 110 -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission

    • Atomic Energy Act

  • Maintain constructive working relationships with business unit management and stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain business relationships with nuclear regulators.

  • Submit, manage and ensure effective implementation of U.S. and Canadian export authorizations and licenses.

  • Implement and maintain appropriate recordkeeping for all authorizations, licenses and export registrations.

  • Satisfy all applicable reporting requirements.

  • Develop and deliver U.S. and Canadian trade compliance training to Curtiss-Wright employees.

  • Assist GTC management with transactional due diligence for merger and acquisition activity involving U.S. and Canadian compliance matters.

  • Identify, analyze and implement robust compliance systems in collaboration with the Company's IT professionals.

  • Assist with trade compliance investigations, risk mitigation, audits and self-assessments.

  • Stay current with U.S. and Canadian trade and nuclear compliance laws, regulations, directives, rules, and policies.

  • Work closely with GTC colleagues to ensure consistent, accurate communication and implementation of trade compliance goals and objectives.

Your Expertise:

  • Proficiency in reading and speaking the English language.

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining a U.S. security clearance at the SECRET level.

  • A minimum of eight (8) years' experience as a trade compliance professional in the U.S.

  • Subject matter expertise for U.S. and Canadian trade compliance laws and regulations.

  • Domain knowledge managing the export and import of items subject to the DDTC, and BIS regulations. Knowledge or ability/willingness to learn and implement U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U.S. Department of Energy, and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission regulations.

  • Expertise managing sanctions and embargo programs promulgated by the U.S. and Canada.

  • No objection to background check, as permitted by applicable law.

  • Graduate of a higher-learning institution (i.e. university).

  • No impediment to travel (20% estimated) to Curtiss-Wright global sites.

  • Product- or Service-specific export, import and/or operational training/certification (e.g., CUSECO).
