Career growth opportunity for an HR Generalist to join our HR team in the Pittsburgh area with potential to further development into an HR Manager or even Director level.

The Opportunity | Human Resources Generalist

As a Front Line HR Generalist, you will be working with hourly employees, union leadership, skilled engineers and professionals, managers, and senior leadership.  Implement CW policies and coordinate human resources activities such as recruiting, employee communications, compensation, employee relations, labor relations, training and development and EEO/Affirmative action programs

The Challenge:

    • Perform labor relations activities including communications, grievances, contract interpretation, contract negotiations, arbitrations, NLRB Charges, etc.

    • Work with Managers to develop interview questions, interviewing process, selection of candidates and developing offers

    • Provide responses to EEOC, ADA, ADEA, Human Relations Commission charges and inquiries

  • Assist in communication of strategies and/or messages from Sr. Managers. Manage internal communications such as newsletters, etc.

    • Provide support to Co-op programs including working with managers, universities and other educational institutions to grow a robust Co-op program

  • Provide support to employees and managers on various HR related topics such as leaves of absence, benefits, compensation problem resolution, employee relations issues, etc.

    • Plan and conduct new employee orientation

  • Coordinate with management for training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews

  • Conduct investigations of alleged discrimination, employee relation issues, and ethics violations as needed; recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions

  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Provide practical, consistent, and proactive support and guidance to Managers on HR issues and work together to identify solutions

  • Act as primary contact for all employee related inquiries and respond in a prompt, professional manner

  • Provide management with direction and counseling to resolve employee relations issues

Your Expertise:

  • BS Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

  • Five (5) plus years of progressive growth as an HR Generalist

  • Master's degree a plus

  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus

  • Labor Relations experience a plus

  • Experience in Manufacturing environment a plus

  • Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
