The Opportunity | Inside Sales Engineer


Under direction of the Senior Sales Manager, the Inside Sales Engineer assisting in supporting sales strategy in the on-highway and off-highway markets to meet Curtiss-Wright (CW) Industrial Group's revenue and operating profit objectives. This is a new position for the team at Portland, OR to support with continued growth of the business.


Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical consulting and support for quotations to direct and indirect customers, assuring successful customer integration and implementation of established company products. Knowledge of the company's products is required.


This position is located in Portland, OR and requires 5-10% travel for planned customer meetings and training.


Your Challenge



  • Assisting in preparing strategic sales plans to maintain and grow the customer base, resulting in meeting sales and profitability targets. Prepare technical presentations to illustrate the CW Industrial Group product offering.

  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of quotes to meet customer needs including cost, delivery time and program constraints. Customers include vehicle OEMs, distributors and global CW sales divisions.

  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of technical proposals of how company's products can meet those needs and be integrated and implemented with customer's systems and equipment.

  • Pre-sales activities:


    • Gaining understanding of customer's requirements, program timing and selection of CW Industrial product offerings.

    • Working with engineering, manufacturing and accounting to review customer specifications and product offering

    • Generating proposals to management for approval.

  • Post-sale activities:


    • Gathering data and information on customer awards and development of program deliverables

    • Generating call reports to review sales volumes, new sales, status of opportunities. These reports will be completed using Salesforce.

    • Monitor customer forecasts and our delivery performance.

    • Represent CW Industrial Group at trade shows and exhibitions. Follow up on leads for potential new sales.

    • Monitor competitive activity and trends to the management.

Your Expertise



  • 2-4 years' experience working in an inside sales role ideally from an Industrial or Manufacturing company

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Previous MRP experience

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
