The Opportunity | Jr. Planner/Material Handler (Contract)


Under close supervision, supports creation of plans, schedules, coordination and/or monitoring of products through the complete production cycle. Works from engineering plans and production specifications to support planning group to establish production schedules. Support production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. Prepare kitting packages for assembly production. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Performs the physical or administrative tasks to support shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders. Support preparation of goods for final shipment.



Your Challenge:



  • Support development and maintainance of detailed schedules, production plans and material requirements lists in accordance with the Master Production Schedule, for products, proposal efforts and/or production processes.

  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality and other departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules.

  • May provide input to materials management regarding problems such as scheduling problems, material shortages, design changes and backlogs.

  • Support releasing and maintainance all appropriate paperwork.

  • Assist with cycle count inventory.

  • Perform a variety of kitting and order functions.

  • Support preparation, load and unload shipments including documentation and verification.

  • Perform scanning of closed Job Orders and incoming inspection documentation in proper electronic archive locations



Your Expertise:



  • 2+ years of relevant experience in materials handling and inventory management.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs unassisted.

  • Position requires sitting, standing and lifting.

  • Must be available to work OT in evenings and Saturdays as required.

  • Must be available for contract starting ASAP -- December 31, 2020. 

  • Must be able to pass a Colour Vision and Near-Vision eye exam prior to starting and every 12 months thereafter.


This position may require exposure to information, which is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must meet eligibility requirements of the ITAR and of the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).
