The Opportunity | Financial Reporting Manager

To manage the preparation and review of non-U.S. statutory reporting requirements for a Division of the Corporation, manage all Division audits and SOX requirements, and provide consolidated Divisional input to Corporate Finance for organization-level reporting. The position will have a direct level of interaction with and support for the Senior Staff Management Team. The role is aimed at the development and succession planning for the Senior Business Unit Controller position.

Location: Brecksville, OH

Your Challenge:

  • Prepare and coordinate the preparation and review of all foreign statutory reporting requirements for Division for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting principles and relevant regulations. Coordinate with external auditors for all interim, and year-end auditing procedures. Prepare, coordinate, and submit all Division flux information to be contained in the quarterly Corporate earnings and SEC filings.

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage Division analytical reviews on a quarterly basis via working with various management groups across Division. Provide technical accounting guidance to Division Management.

  • Prepare and provide Division input into ad hoc requests as required by Senior Division or Corporate Management.

  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions by performing due diligence on potential acquisitions and integration of acquired companies. Evaluate newly acquired companies on a quarterly basis to ensure proper accounting and external reporting.

  • Perform technical research and conclude on complex accounting issues through discussions with management and preparation of technical accounting memoranda. Maintain and update Division accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant local regulations.

  • Provide support with preparation, development and implementation of annual budget, forecasting and strategic planning.

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day Month End Closing and reconciliations, reporting and system closing.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in Accounting or Finance required. MBA is preferred.

  • 7-10+ years of accounting in a manufacturing environment, general ledger accounting, and analysis experience required.

  • Extensive knowledge in GAAP and foreign reporting requirements.

  • Ability to apply corporate accounting guidelines in addition to GAAP.

  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.

  • Excellent critical thinking / analytical skills.

  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office software required.

  • Strong communication (written and oral), organization and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to set priorities, work independently, and bring issues to resolution.

  • International travel required (approximately 10%).
