The Opportunity | Supplier Quality Excellence Manager


The Challenge:
The Manager, Supplier Quality Excellence (SQE) reports to the Director, Quality Assurance and works with Sourcing, Engineering, and Project Teams to improve the quality of products delivered to CW-EMD by its suppliers. In addition to assuring supplier product quality, s/he is responsible for the continual improvement of supplier quality performance and ensuring that suppliers comply with the applicable quality codes and standards. A critical function of this role is to ensure that employees are continually developed and challenged to grow in their roles. The Manager, SQE must have a cross-functional understanding of how the Supplier Quality function interacts and impacts the performance of the business.


Areas of Responsibility and Essential Functions

The Manager, SQE is responsible for leading the execution and continuous improvement of the following processes and areas related to suppliers and supplier quality: performance, compliance, risk mitigation, qualification, and corrective actions. The Manager, SQE is also responsible for CW-EMD's internal audit program.

Travel: 10-25%



Your Expertise:


* Working knowledge of Navy Nuclear and Commercial Nuclear codes and standards. Experience with 10CFR50, Appendix B and NQA-1 Quality Assurance Programs including knowledge of ASME Sections II, III, V, VIII, IX, XI Commercial Grade Dedication.

* Working knowledge and/or experience using Lean and/or Six Sigma methods; certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma disciplines preferred

* Well-versed in various manufacturing processes (casting, forging, assembly, welding, machining, etc.)

* Understanding of quality auditing processes and standards; experience as a Lead Auditor preferred

* Plan, control monitor quality systems which ensure contract quality requirements are met

* Review contract and specification requirements and provide assurance that engineering drawings, manufacturing travelers, process specifications satisfy those requirements.

* Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance


Education


* Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience including five (5) years of Leadership/Management experience. Master's Degree preferred.

* 5+ years of related quality experience
