The Opportunity | Manufacturing Control Planner

This is a full-time position and is in the bargaining unit of the Association Of Westinghouse Salaried Employees (AWSE) Union. This position will be on second shift (hours 3:30 p.m. -- 11:30 a.m.). The position would be eligible as movement in the group takes place but could be on the back shift for up to three (3) to four (4) years.

The individual will receive shift differential while on the back shift. The position is paid on a bi-weekly basis.

Education Requirements:

  • High School graduate with a minimum of two year additional education at an accredited college, or its equivalent gained through training/experience in the theory/application of manufacturing processes. Must be able to read and interpret drawings to identify parts from a bill of material. Must be able to distinguish machine type and have knowledge of production control systems and procedures.


  • Must have knowledge and experience in manufacturing shop materials, practices and processes such as the ability to read and interpret drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions. Familiarity with MRP, inventory, and shop floor transactions as necessary to support manufacturing activities is desired. Machining and assembly experience is helpful

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform production activities to support manufacturing including performing audits as required and supporting daily work schedules and overall work center objectives

  • Follow/expedite material, tooling, related paperwork, parts, subassemblies, and/or completed assemblies through all operations and processes in sufficient time to meet scheduled shipment/completion dates.

  • Notify appropriate manufacturing personnel including the Production Control Supervisors and Manufacturing Operations Supervisors of critical non-conformance reports.

  • Resolve inaccuracies with the appropriate storeroom or production personnel. Monitor the status of short released items to ensure their timely completion.

  • Problem sensitivity resolution (the ability to tell when something is about to go wrong and/or recognize there is a problem, then follow through with appropriate actions to resolve)

Must be US citizen and be able to obtain DOD security clearance
