The Opportunity | Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in support of our machining operations. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and improving methods and processes to manufacture aerospace components. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to support both new product development and improve existing products using Lean concepts and through continuous improvement activities.

Your challenge:

  • Interface with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products and conduct review of engineering drawings prior to release

  • Develop CNC programming code for multi-axis and multi-spindle machines using CAM software

  • Define the methods and processes required to manufacture aerospace components from raw stock to finished components

  • Create manufacturing routings and bills of materials to define manufacturing processes within an ERP system

  • Implement Lean concepts and support continuous improvement activities

  • Trouble shoot machining issues on the shop floor and implement corrective actions as required

  • Support special processes including heat treating, brazing, plating, and anodizing

  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities to disposition non-conforming hardware

Your expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience developing CNC programs using CAM software

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office

  • Experience with mathematical concepts (fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry) and ability to apply concepts to practical situations

  • Familiarity with aerospace materials (stainless steel, high temperature alloys, etc.) is a plus

  • Familiarity with heat treating, brazing, plating, and/or anodizing is a plus
