Job Description

Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer based at our new site by Bournemouth Airport. Working for our Industrial Division you will be responsible for designing packaging of electronics components for our range of products, conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.


Working alongside an experienced team you will bring an understanding of materials including properties and selection, 3D modelling experience and be passionate about your work.


Responsibilities:



  • Designing packaging of electronic components, boxes, etc.

  • Machining, injection molding and casting

  • Designing and conducting experiments, collects data and interpreting results

  • Conducting analysis and writes analysis and test reports

  • Drawing conclusions and reconcile differences between predicted and actual results

  • Preparing detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication

  • Providing engineering design, maintenance support and training to the manufacturing areas

  • Designing new equipment and machinery as conceived to support the in-house needs of Manufacturing and Engineering

  • Assisting building, installing, debugging and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities

  • Determining technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems

  • Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses


Experience required:



  • Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Proven 3D modeling experience ideally using SolidWorks

  • Understanding of materials, properties and selection for use

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


This position may require exposure to information which is subject to export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
