Here in Bournemouth, we design and manufacture cockpit voice and data flight recorders as well as air data computers. Our Air Data Computers have the world's highest specification pressure sensors while operating in an aircraft environment! They supply altitude and airspeed readings directly to primary cockpit displays and auto pilots. Our recorders survive an 1100°C fire, 3400g shock impact, deep sea immersion at 20,000ft depth for 90 days and retain the recorded data which is then used to identify the cause of a crash. Recorded information includes cockpit audio from both area and personal microphones as well as important flight data (for example angle of attack, mach, rudder position etc.). Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Planner to join our Avionics Team at our state-of-the-art facility by Bournemouth Airport. This new position will be joining our Planning Team with responsibilities covering all aspects of planning with the addition of ad-hoc Buyer duties as required to support the business. You will bring previous planning experience, ideally from the aerospace industry and will be self-motivated, strong team player.


  • Ensuring that all Production Works Orders are raised on-time, free of shortages and are closed and purged on a daily basis
  • Representing customers needs to ensure the organization is aware of these with regard to delivery and product needs
  • Monitoring and maintain parts availability minimizing shortages and maintaining build schedules across internal and external supplier base
  • Ensuring processes are followed that main accurate records and traceability
  • Conducting activities in line with the organizations Quality and Health & Safety requirements at all times
  • Supporting supply chain through analytical control and updating of data / plans in relation to materials, cell resource, operation and inventory activity. Interacting with various departments ensuring high levels of efficiency and effectivity
  • Working within operating budgets, achieving cost effectiveness savings where possible
  • Suggesting, implementing and driving solutions to improve the manufacturing system when needed

Your Expertise

  • Knowledge and experience of production planning, operations & manufacturing and quality control principles
  • Basic understanding of ERP / MRP and inventory control systems
  • Good computer skills including Excel
  • Previous Aerospace experience would be desirable but not essential
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently with all levels across the business
