Job Description

The Opportunity |Plant Supervisor

In a process service within a customer's manufacturing environment, manages the coordination of manufacturing operations activities including one of the following functional areas: coordinate schedules based on sales levels and production capacity. Responsible for coordinating all resources to meet the accelerated product development needs of our customers, which include operations and administrative activities. Participate in facilitating industrial and labor relations with direct reports and shop personnel. Small Shop, primarily aerospace.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.

  • Design and manage company safety committee and AWARE program.

  • Responsible for overseeing daily HR functions related to production employees. This includes training of supervisors and leads.

  • Direct and coordinate plant production, operations, and personnel.

  • Delegation of work to shop floor employees

  • Train, mentor, oversee, and assist employees with disciplinary actions with approval from Business Unit Manager and Corporate HR office. Assist with terminations and disciplinary action when required.

  • Manage company policies and procedures for improving Risk Management for health and cost containment.

  • Receives assignments in the form of goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of one of the following functional areas: quality assurance, and engineering.

  • Involved in translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable processing of company products.

  • May develop operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Coordinate with sister facilities processing similar hardware, some offshore.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office. Strong initiative & leadership, analytical problem solving.

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to delegate and manage responsibility for a wide range of activities.

  • Ability to manage and direct employees with strong, willful, and independent personalities.

  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

  • Working knowledge of production process and shop design.

  • 7 - 10 years of Experience in the field. Job Shop manufacturing preferred.
