The Opportunity | Process Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)


Perform high quality engineering projects and mechanical and material evaluations to meet customer expectations in a timely and cost effective manner. Work independently on special projects and with fellow engineers, scientists, and technicians across departments. Provide knowledge and insight on a variety of materials while designing unique test plans for product and component testing.


Your Expertise



  • Perform technical analysis in the nonmetallic and mechanical department, with a focus on quality assurance, R&D, material identification and failure analysis for industrial clients.

  • Organize projects for standardized testing and develop techniques for special projects.

  • Conduct material evaluations of non-metallic material, TMA, abrasion testing and various product testing.

  • Prepare and review reports to ensure quality.

  • Analyze samples using a variety of analytical techniques. Analytical techniques will include the use of a broad spectrum of instrumentation and/or specialty area testing disciplines.

  • Train, monitor and coordinate assigned activities of other laboratory personnel in the areas of test set up, sample preparation and data collection to ensure that IMR's quality and safety standards are met.

  • Review work, distribute incoming jobs, and assure work completion in a high quality and timely manner.

  • Interface with customers on a regular, proactive basis to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.

  • Interact with customers to understand and meet their needs and expectations.

  • Conduct or assist in conducting customer tours, visits and audits

  • Review special project leads, quotes, and test plans

  • Exhibit and maintain a high level of engineering skills.


Your Expertise



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related field

  • Four to six years of experience in a laboratory or related environment.

  • Ability to train and communicate effectively with fellow employees.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills and ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
