Project Engineer

We are looking for a technically savvy Engineer to act as an Advisor between our internal and external Stakeholders!

Under minimal supervision, manage and plan project tasks, delegate responsibilities and ensure efficient completion of the project. Performs a variety of moderately complex software and/or hardware engineering activities of an analysis, design or test nature. Provides delegation to project teams and provides guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff. Plans, conducts and may supervise research, development or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specifications. Engineering activities support both domestic and international products/services. Administers new product introduction and IR&D budgets and schedules to ensure on-time completion of assigned projects.

Your Challenge:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operation of product designs
  • Write performance requirements for product development or engineering projects
  • Organize product development team
  • Provide leadership and delegation of tasks to ensure efficient project organization and completion
  • Maintain project budgets, action items lists and other documentation necessary to track project milestone completion
  • Work with a matrix of departments to ensure plans are completed
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, statements of work, and other data to evaluate the feasibility and cost of designs or applications
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Support Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations of equipment failures and difficulties, to diagnose potential causes and to make recommendations of possible changes to hardware or processes
  • Estimate costs and submit bids for engineering projects, prepare technical response documents
  • May establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical)
  • 4-6 years of experience in a similar role
  • Prior experience in managing engineering projects including planning, budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Project Management Certification desired
  • Must be proficient with Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry preferably in defense or commercial aerospace
  • Prior hands-on technical engineering experience
  • Oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office
  • Organization, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple opportunities and meet strict deadlines
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Must have excellent communication and writing skills
  • Expert Conflict management and resolution skills
  • US citizen
