Job Description


Your Challenge



  • Responsible for preparing proposals from customer supplied Request for Quotation (RFQ). This would include complete review of technical and commercial specifications and from this:

  • Conduct sizing, selection of Pressure Relief Valves.

  • Determine necessary technical and commercial clarifications and deviations.

  • Interface with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations and Finance Departments to ensure all technical and commercial specifications are understood and quoted precisely.

  • Complete review of customer supplied Terms & Conditions to ensure all commercial terms are acceptable or included in Farris' terms and conditions.

  • Interface with Operations Project Manager to confirm suitable lead-time to include order entry time allowance.

  • Interface with Farris representatives, Regional Sales Managers and Farris Sales Management to develop project "Win" strategy.

  • Communicate timely with customers.

  • Complete and maintain iPRSM Commercial Module Quote Log.

  • Attend technical/commercial bid evaluation meetings at customer location (as required).

  • Participate in quote to order hand off meeting with applications engineer and Project Manager upon reconciliation of order versus quote.

  • Provide support to Project Manager throughout order management phase as required.

  • International travel and passport may be required.

  • Due to project nature, work outside of normal work hours will be necessary.


Your Expertise



  • Bachelor's Degree in technical or business field; Engineering, Instrumentation, business or 2 - 5 years Technical Sales experience required, with exposure to Pressure Relief Valve products preferred.

  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and problem solving skills.

  • Basic understanding of fluid and/or process systems preferred.

  • Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, LN or other ERP System.

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects, and be attentive to detail.

  • Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

  • Customer/Client focus.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Team player.
