The Opportunity | Proposal Supervisor
The Proposal Supervisor, a key member of the integrated proposal team, is responsible for planning, developing and producing, all proposal deliverables. Provides hands-on approach for entire proposal development processes, including but not limited to: identification of team member roles and responsibilities; development of outlines and delegation of writing assignments; monitoring timelines; ensuring compliance; cost/pricing development and all other aspects of producing a winning proposal.
A key skill set for the proposal supervisor will be the ability to support and develop program cost and pricing in accordance with company policies. The proposal supervisor will work with group business development staff, as well as technical and support staff, too ensure that proposals reflect the best technical, management, and price offerings that Curtiss-Wright can make to get to a winning position on RFQs and RFPs.
Your Challenge

  • Works with management to focus on the win strategy throughout the proposal process, and infuses that strategy and its resultant tactics effectively throughout the entire proposal process

  • Responsible for all Proposals, including RFI's, RFQs, RFP's and a variety of informal requests for product and program information

  • Responds to RFQ/RFP releases and other calls for proposals; Drives proposal development individually and manages proposal teams to ensure proposals meet all customer requirements

  • Prepares cost and pricing proposals utilizing elements of cost provided by other departments in accordance with company pricing and approval policies

  • Organizes and leads proposal review meetings, including proposal/no proposal, and ensures winning strategies are established and clearly conveyed in the submission

  • Provides direction for preparation of technical, management, and cost inputs to achieve a response in line with the proposal strategy.

  • Leads the assembly and production of a complete submission which reflects the win strategy

  • Ensures proposal capture win strategy (technical approach, pricing, NRE, deliverables, etc.) is discussed and challenged throughout the proposal process.

  • Leads or participates in kick-off meetings; oversees team's effort through the writing process; oversees proposal reviews as well as cost and pricing meetings; obtains management and corporate approvals; and follows through on compliant and timely proposal submission.

  • Manages multiple proposals with dynamic priorities.

  • Leads process improvement initiatives.
Your Expertise

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Understanding of Commercial / Government contracts, FARs/DFARs & other applicable regulations

  • Competency in financial / accounting matters

  • Supervisory experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office

  • Organization, and presentation skills

  • Ability to handle multiple opportunities and meet strict deadlines

  • Current holder of U.S Citizenship.

  • Technical background required; BA, BS and MBA preferred
