The Opportunity } Quality Engineer (Machining)


We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer. The Quality Engineer will drive the assembly, test and final inspection processes to ensure the final product meets all applicable customer, industry, and regulatory standards. They must fully understand the requirements for the product or service and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition.


This job function is primarily responsible for the engineering and technical operations of the assembly and test processes. Activities include:



  • Testing, operating, and implementing equipment;

  • Ensuring that standards of safety, quality, cost, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in the assembly and test processes;

  • Providing leadership and support to ensure the assembly and test processes achieve defined business metrics; and

  • Continuously identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.



Your Challenge


  • Provide support and direction in the implementation and administration of quality systems. Monitor, maintain and continuously improve system procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, and cost estimates.

  • Assist with material review board, failure analysis and corrective action activities.

  • Analyze the effectiveness of the quality system and coordinate quality related issues with other departments, suppliers and customers.

  • Communicate customer, supplier and internal quality performance, trends and initiate corrective actions accordingly.

  • Initiate and support improvement activities involving design, inspection techniques, process/ procedure methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the control of material or product quality.

  • Provide day-to-day support to the assembly group including problem solving, labor and process flow/layouts.

  • Perform internal product, process and procedure audits to ensure compliance to specified quality requirements and assist in the planning and coordination of audit activities, schedules and reports.

  • Support receiving, in-process and final inspection activities and/or personnel to ensure product quality is maintained.

  • Participate in evaluation and selection of supplier materials, processes and parts.

  • Generates training materials and programs as required, and conduct training sessions to support quality system.

  • Work cross functionally with other teams to drive solutions.

  • Perform other Quality Engineering related duties or functions as assigned.


Your Expertise



  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • 2-4 years experience as a quality engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced in ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements.

  • Ability to create results through customer responsiveness and continuous process improvement.

  • Ability to perform with minimum supervision and work effectively with others in a team environment.

  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.

  • Lean/Six Sigma working knowledge and practical experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of ASME code Section I and VIII preferred.

  • Manufacturing experience with casting, forging and machining preferred.
