Job Description

The Opportunity | Quality Engineer

 Work with internal and external stakeholders to solve complex problems, advance the continuous improvement effort through effective corrective action implementation, and use of applicable quality tools, such as RCA, Six-Sigma, FMEA, etc. In addition, maintain applicable quality manuals, procedures, develop, and administer new training material all in support of a Zero Defect Culture.

Your Challenge

  • Monitor both PS and supplier quality performance and lead root cause and corrective action activities.

  • Perform internal audits as assigned within the overall internal audit program.

  • Maintain the approved subcontractor list and perform subcontractor audits as required.

  • Work directly with customers and various regulatory personnel with regard to quality and/or audit activities.

  • Monitor Revision status of technical data and initiate review procedures when new revisions are published.

  • Maintain the Repair Station Quality Manuals and related documents and procedures.

  • Maintain the repair station roster per the Repair Station Quality Manual.

  • Maintain control of scrap materials and execute scrap procedures.

  • Maintain incoming, in process, and final inspection procedures.

  • Provide support for first article inspection activities.

  • Review and approve internal engineering and quality documents as appropriate.

  • Support engineering in tooling equivalency evaluations and documentation.

  • Consult with engineering to make minor/major repairs/alterations determinations.

  • In consultation with engineering, disposition non-conforming material.

  • Working with HR, maintain the repair station training program and administer training as appropriate.

  • Support the quality inspection department with technical guidance and inspection assistance during surges.

 Your Expertise

  • Bachelors' degree in a related field, an Associate's degree with equivalent experience, or CQE certification with two years' experience

  • FAA A&P License and Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

  • Practical understanding of the technical data used by the repair station (i.e. Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Component Maintenance Manuals, Drawings, APL's, etc.)

  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ability to use precision gages to determine serviceability

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with various technical and non-technical personnel internally and externally in support of new and recurrent training, quality audits, RCCA activity, and the overall promotion of the quality system

 This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
