The Opportunity: Senior Component Engineer


As a Senior Component Engineer at our Newtown, PA facility, you will be part of the electronic design group, sourcing, selecting, and qualifying a wide range of electronic assembly components destined for flight test centers, spacecraft, missile programs, and commercial and business jets.


This is a brand new position in our facility and you will work in close collaboration with engineering, operations and manufacturing to ensure that the component choices fit the goals and objectives of the design. We will look to you to suggest alternate component technologies and develop procedures on vendor selection vendors where appropriate. You will be detail oriented, thrive under tight deadlines and continuously push for high standards from yourself and the rest of the team.


Responsibilities



  • Sources, selects, and qualifies a wide range of components used in the company's technology

  • Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies of diverse scope, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability

  • Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources

  • Develops guidelines/procedures on vendor selection. Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed

  • May maintain component data management system including qualification records/results/documentation


Experience Required



  • Bachelors degree or equivalent

  • 4+ years experience in Component engineering is required

  • Knowledge of electronic assembly components is required

  • Strong oral, written communication, organization, and presentation skills are required

  • Knowledge of MS Office

  • Experience with GIDEP & IHS tools would be an asset

  • Problem solving and analytical skills are required

  • Ability to handle multiple opportunities and meet strict deadlines
