As Senior Cost Accountant at our TTC facility in Newtown, PA you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and/or maintaining the cost accounting systems and processes. We are seeking an innovative, driven, and motivated Cost Accountant to join our finance team and help our company achieve its goals. To do this, you will have strong data extrapolation and reconciliation skills, and the ability to analyze manufacturing variances on a daily and monthly basis. Your Challenge:

  • Prepare period end journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts, determine inventory reserve requirements.

  • Collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed.

  • Works with department managers to report on budget to actual variances and forecasts of future costs

  • Prepares cost and inventory reports, manufacturing variance reports and inventory analyses used to forecast.

  • Supports and reviews all outgoing customer bids.

  • Lead monthly meetings with Departmental Management to provide cost/inventory reporting interpretation, action requirements and or control/policy obligations.

  • Ensures that inventory is stated in accordance with GAAP accounting ASC 330 and standard costs are adjusted to align with actuals as needed.

  • Ensures proper transfer pricing rules are followed and reported accurately.

  • Maintains the cycle count program and leads physical counts as required.

  • Other ad hoc and special reporting related to cost and inventory.

Your Expertise:

  • Seven plus years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry

  • Knowledge of cost accounting principles in a standard cost environment and project costing.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Ability to apply corporate accounting guidelines in addition to GAAP.

  • Experience in ERP system required. Exposure to Syteline a strong plus.

  • Excellent critical thinking / analytical skills.

  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office software required especially Excel.

  • Strong communication (written and oral), organization and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to set priorities, work independently, and bring issues to resolution.

  • Some travel may be required.
