The Opportunity | Senior Engineering Technician

Working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and quality, the Senior Engineering Technician performs the duties of defining manufacturing processes within the manufacturing router and identifies applicable outside service providers. Candidates for the Sr. Engineering Technician position will need to possess technical skills in order to perform the responsibilities listed below.

The Challenge:

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to read, understand and apply technical specification requirements and blueprints.

  • Generates production plans (Routers) and processes for products.

  • Identifies and resolves issues in a timely and efficient manner across various departments including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality.

  • Evaluates existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.

  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness.

  • Support cost estimating for quotation of machined products.

Your Expertise:

  • Performed in a similar role or has strong manufacturing and/or engineering experience.

  • Highly organized, detail orientated with proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task on multiple projects in a fast paced environment

  • Ability in reading, interpreting technical specifications and blueprints

  • Familiar with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Oracle experience an asset

  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing an asset

  • Technical/Trade school with relevant experience; or 2 year degree with appropriate experience preferred.
