The Opportunity | Senior NDT Inspector


Curtiss-Wright is currently looking for experienced Level II inspectors with prior Level II PT, MT, & ET certifications. The NDT Level II Technician will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and the technician will record results.



The NDT Level II must be capable of interpreting wheel and brake assemblies limited to Aerospace requirements. The NDT Level II technician will be responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and NDT Assistants. The NDT Level II technician will organize and report results.


Responsibilities



  • Actively participate in the company safety programs

  • Set up and utilize nondestructive testing equipment



  • Calibrate nondestructive testing equipment



  • Conduct MT tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects)



  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations



  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results



  • Interpret MT results



  • Organize and report test results



  • Fill out daily process control reports



  • May perform specialized inspections



  • May instruct and supervise others



  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management



Qualifications



  • Prior Certified Level II MT technician. Evidence of formal training, documented experience and prior certifications is required.



  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures



  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections



  • Knowledge of NDT equipment

  • Reliable with high attention to detail

  • Basic computer skills and understanding of MS Office

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical/Trade school preferred
