Job Description


The Opportunity


This Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for applying broad knowledge and skills in RV calculations to manage small and medium sized RV sizing basis projects for FES clients. They will also establish criteria for and maintain quality control over projects. The Senior Project Engineer ensures project schedules are met and/or communicate project slippage to clients. They will be required to assign staff to complete project scope based on skill set and resource availability to complete assigned work efficiently and productively (matching the skill set with the work requirement). They will also need to communicate resource needs to the Engineering Manager and adjust schedules based on resource availability. On the managerial side, this individual will assist the Operations Manager and Engineering Manager in developing project cost proposals for new work and will need to interface with clients to establish scope, deliverables, and schedule for assigned projects.



Your Challenge


  • Has thorough understanding of RV hardware applications and is capable of specifying specific hardware solutions.

  • Requires little to no collaboration to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assigned work and can communicate the same to junior staff.

  • Leads/manages all aspects of assigned projects requiring minimal direction of Engineering Manager.

  • Makes routine technical decisions and coordinates and solicits input from others for technical decisions involving complex technical issues.

  • Is fully cognizant of liability issues associated with FES work and applies decision process to limit FES liability exposure.

  • Completes special assignments as required pertaining to FES technology or work process improvements.

  • Acts in an ethical and professional manner in all facets of work.

  • Capable of performing & reviewing for accuracy complex RV sizing basis calculations.

  • Capable of performing and reviewing for accuracy mitigation calculations prepared by others for approval prior to client review.

  • Called upon to provide technical insight and answer questions generated by client and staff personnel. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of hardware applications, code, and recommended practices governing calculations associated with RVs and tank vents and associated equipment.

  • Able to effectively communicate the same to client personnel.

  • Performs oversight of all work aspects associated with a given project.

  • Assigns work to be performed and monitors work progression and cost to ensure project schedules and costs are within expectations.

  • Works independently to review and audit the work of others to ensure quality objectives are met.

  • Determines and communicates work priorities for completing work to supporting staff for assigned projects. Mentors junior staff to facilitate their development and progression as engineers.

  • Provides input into staff annual performance reviews and recommendations for advancement/promotion or disciplinary action.


Your Expertise



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, required. Master's degree preferred.

  • Must have at least 5+ years related experience.

  • Must be able to read and interpret P&IDs

  • Knowledge of API and ASME codes as they pertain to relief devices

  • Experience with flare design and sizing calculations

  • Domestic and global travel may be required
