Tactical Communications Group (TCG) is a world-class leader in delivering Tactical Data Link (TDL) network solutions that allow military operating and training units, government testing organizations and prime defense contractors to quickly achieve better connectivity and capability at the tactical edge. By creating cost effective, integrated tactical communications solutions, warfighters in the air and on the ground can now exchange real-time tactical information and share a common operating picture for improved operational coordination, situation awareness and mission effectiveness.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing software for TCG's Tactical Communications Manager (TCM) software applications. The Senior Software Engineer will be part of small team (3-6) of software engineers under the supervision of a Lead Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer will be assigned to one or more software development projects typically 6-9 months in duration. In addition, the Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of TCG's TCM software at the direction of the Lead Engineer.

Your Challenge:

  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Modifying existing software and troubleshooting issues.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and documentation
  • Travel to customer sites for debugging/testing of software

Your Expertise:

  • BS/BE Degree in Software Engineering or 3+ years equivalent experience
  • 7+ year Software Development (design & programming) experience
  • Java/C++ development in Windows environments
  • Experience with full lifecycle of the software engineering process including functional specification, design, implementation, and testing
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete tasks with attention to detail and organization

Highly desired

  • MS Visual Studio or Eclipse/InteliJ
  • Application development in Windows/Linux environment (not web only)
  • Experience developing multi-threaded applications
  • Any prior experience with Tactical Data Links would be a strong bonus
