Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division, which includes the product brands of Arens Controls, Penny & Giles, PG Drives Technology and Williams Controls, is an excellent supplier in providing components and sub-systems which enable customer specific solutions for on- and off-highway vehicles. These include medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses and motor coaches, construction and agricultural vehicles, materials handling, and other specialty vehicles, as well as sophisticated wheelchairs and scooters for medical mobility.

We develop and manufacture electronic throttle controls, transmission shifters and sensors for commercial off-highway equipment and heavy trucks, helping to address the long-term trend towards attaining higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. We also supply operator controls and advanced motor controllers for hybrid and electric vehicles, such as buses, forklift trucks, pallet stackers, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation chairs.

Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Test Equipment Engineer to join our growing Software Team at our state-of-the-art facility by Bournemouth Airport. This varied role will be responsible for the design and development of automated test equipment for use in the manufacture of power electronics-based modules for use in industrial and medical applications.

Your Challenge:

  • Designing automated test equipment for use in a production environment to test a range of Modules used on Mobility/Industrial applications
  • Analyzing product details and define production test requirements
  • Designing and developing test software to implement production test requirements
  • Documenting test equipment hardware and software
  • Providing support to maintain and improve current and legacy test equipment
  • Support of existing equipment
  • Generating appropriate design and user documentation

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent; or equivalent related work experience
  • Good working knowledge of modern electronics, both analogue and digital
  • Understanding of instrument control (via USB, LAN, GPIB)
  • Experienced in procedural programming, for example using LabWindows/CVI (C language)
  • Ability to work with other engineering disciplines (Software, Hardware, mechanical, production engineering)
  • Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment
