The Opportunity| Sr. Business System Developer -- SAP COE


Our Curtiss-Wright facility in Kanata, Ontario is looking for a Senior Business System Developer for our SAP Center of Excellence. We are looking for experienced SAP developers to help with software enhancements, modifications and making recommendations while working with customers and staff, companywide.




Your Challenge:



  • Apply technical knowledge to develop / ensure that the developed solution performs efficiently and that customers are satisfied with developed solution.

  • Works with customers and functional staff in the resolution of software problems and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements.

  • Provides technical guidance to offshore development team.

  • Identify areas where improving the technical solution brings benefit to the business

  • Evaluates and recommends changes to development standards. Evaluates and recommends changes to established methods to achieve departmental / BU objectives.

  • Provides technical consulting on complex projects.

  • Adhere to processes within the Business System environment to ensure sustainable compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.


Your Expertise:



  • Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma or equivalent working experience

  • 7 years minimum IT related experience or combination of education and experience

  • 2+ SAP implementation lifecycles

  • 5+ years of experience developing / enhancing ABAP reports, SAP Queries, Function Modules

  • 3+ years of experience with custom BAPI, LSMW, and other data migration tools leveraging ABAP OO

  • 2+ years of experience with data extraction and transformation

  • 2+ years of experience with UI5 and XML

  • 2+ years of experience with Javascript

  • Cross-functional implementation experience with SAP ERP (ECC 6) in SD/CS, MM, PP, QM, PS, FI/CO, PM

  • Advanced knowledge of application design principles, practices, systems development and analysis

  • Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle

  • Able to work in an AGILE development cycle (SPRINT, SCRUM)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand

  • Team oriented and self-driving

  • Ability to build positive and professional business relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Demonstrated experience working on large & small projects in a team environment as well as able to work independently.

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts (customer issues, prototyping/architecture, implementation etc.).
