Job Description


The Opportunity | Logistics Supervisor
Perform administrative duties to process shipping of goods and materials. Supervise and direct the activities of production employees under the guidance of the Operations Manager. Shippers and Logistics Specialist will report to the Logistics Supervisor.


Location: Mississauga, ON


The Challenge:

* Prepare export documentation for shipments via air, ocean and ground (B13)

* Arrange transportation for shipments via air, ocean and ground

* Arrange pickup along with import documentation from various suppliers internationally

* Approve freight and broker invoices

* Apply for, process and perform quarterly reporting for Export Permits

* Arrange for pickups/shipments via internal dispatches for local and international shipments

* Liaise with freight forwarders and apply for Commercial Bill of Ladings (CBLs)

* Obtain proof of delivery for all shipments

* Researching and applying applicable HS codes to shipments

* Supervise and direct union Shippers in their tasks and priorities



Your Expertise:


* Previous Supervisory experience


* 3+ years of experience working with HS codes

* Knowledge of import permits and tariff quotas

* Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR/Controlled Goods/Canada Import & Export Controls Act

* Export regulations, Letters of Credit and Export Permits application and reporting

* Excellent communication and customer service skills

* Experience in Mil-spec packaging/labels (2073)

* Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines

* Ensure dangerous goods packaging and documentation is in accordance with regulations

* Submit receiving reports where needed for DFAS/Canadian Commercial Shipments

* Registered users of various government websites i.e Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) and Commercial Asset Visibility (CAV)

* Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

* Business system experience

* An appropriate certificate or diploma would be considered an asset especially CITT and CCS.
