The Opportunity | Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer is a new opportunity working remotely to support the Curtiss-Wright Sensors & Controls Division. Providing supplier quality management during new parts and mass production process, this role includes new part approval and supplier's nonconforming disposition, on-site audit, performance review etc. Making sure all parts from supplier meet company requirement.

This is a remote based opportunity and successful candidates must have the ability to undertake a heavy travel schedule (at least 75%) to meet with suppliers in their territory. You must have the ability to work from home as needed.

Your Challenge:

  • Maintain new supplier evaluation, new parts validation and approval for new projects and parts localization project.

  • Resolve problems for parts issued from customer, production, or IQC. Provide analysis on all processes to determine the root cause and propose a solution. Provide follow up to suppliers.

  • Monitor/support suppliers' product/process quality control system improvement by system/process/product audit, supplier training and project management etc. Responsible for ensuring suppliers comply with environmental laws and requirements and comply with company QEMS regulation.

  • Supplier quality systems audits, capacity audits, and process audits.

  • Review and approve inspection plans.

  • Work with suppliers to develop PFEMA's and control plans.

  • Responsible for assessing and communicating supply base risk.

  • Perform production readiness reviews on new parts.

  • They will need to be able to work with and communicate with all levels in an organization -- from operators on the floor to the President of the company)

Your Expertise:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline

  • A minimum of 4 years prior experience in supplier quality or supplier development in an Aerospace and Defense industry

  • Must be familiar with AS9100 Rev. D.

  • Must be able to work remotely with little supervision

  • Training in FMEA and GD&T a plus

This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
