The Opportunity | Manufacturing Operations Manager


As part of the Operations team, the Manufacturing Operations Manager manages and coordinates the work of Engineering and Technician staff placing particular emphasis on Product Assembly, manufacturing and Facilities with the objective of implementing and developing new manufacturing & assembly capabilities in line with contract requirements for existing and new product lines; and manage all aspect of site facilities.


Manages departments supporting manufacturing, Final Product Assembly and Facilities functions.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Lead a team of engineers, technicians and production employees in the planning and execution of planned work.

  • Recruit, hire and direct the development and training of engineers, technicians and production employees to provide sufficient staffing to effectively support production, development and facilities requirements.

  • Plan, coordinate and direct activities including cost estimation and schedules for manufacturing, assembly and facilities.

  • Supervise the execution of maintenance programs such as preventive maintenance, equipment calibration and inspections

  • Supervise all maintenance storeroom activities including the receipt of purchased items, inventory control, stocking, work order kitting, and administration of maintenance equipment

  • Develops and implements personnel training activities aimed at maintaining a competent flexible workforce including, safety training, and specialty training for each area of responsibility

  • Monitor performance and take appropriate actions to assure a safe and accident-free work environment.

  • Monitor performance against schedule and take appropriate actions to assure that commitments are met.

  • Develop and maintain department budget and monitor and direct facilities and equipment expenditures to assure spending levels are within budgeted and approved amounts.

  • Communicate expectations and priorities to assure that resources are aligned to common goals

  • Develop Maintain, Monitor and Report performance metrics

  • Understand working knowledge of the business' array of products and services

  • Have a working knowledge of industry standards pertaining to quality and testing; preferably IS09001, ASME code, IOCFR50 Appendix B.

  • Have working knowledge of Lean principles for operational excellence.

Qualifications:



  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent mix of working experience/education. An advanced degree in business and/or an engineering discipline is a plus.

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in an engineering discipline in relations to manufacturing, operations and/or facilities management

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a leadership role.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing leadership experience with exposure to machining and welding processes.

  • Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
