Job Description


The Opportunity | Test Engineer


The Test Engineer is responsible for the introduction of newly developed products into full production. This involves working with design engineering to develop design verification test plans, software test plans, and acceptance test procedures and develop automated Test Software, design and coordinate the procurement of test equipment and cables for newly developed products and existing products. Test Engineers also support production line flowing. The Test Engineer must be capable of multitasking and efficiently utilizing Engineering Technicians to assist workflow.


Major Accountabilities /Deliverables



  • Experience developing programs with Visual Basic, LabVIEW, and Python etc.

  • Experience with system integration testing.

  • Experience creating software system level test plans for embedded systems and circuit cards from product specifications.

  • Ability to design cables for integrating multiple systems for test stations.

  • Familiarity with lab test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies).

  • Ability to work with Personal Computers and software tools.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio.

  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.

  • Ability to take ownership of a project with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to multitask with multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work in a team environment with a diverse group of development engineers, test engineers, and technicians.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education



  • Experience or good understanding of network technology (i.e. Ethernet, IP, Wireshark)

  • Experience with working with a variety of interfaces, i.e. RS232/422, IEEE-1394b, Fibre Channel, PCM, Ethernet 100/1000BT + 10G

  • Experience working with Fiber Optics

  • Linux command line experience a plus

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering required

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of test engineering
