Job Description

The Opportunity | Test Supervisor
As a hands on working Test Supervisor, you will oversee the test department and have 5 direct reports including Test Engineers and Technicians.

Location: Bethlehem, PA (greater Philadelphia area)

The Challenge:
Perform hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and acoustical tests on various types of pumps and motors.

* Develop and maintain test department procedures with compliance to customer contract and mil-spec requirements.

* Provide guidance and direction to test department and bargaining unit personnel.

* Review and approve timesheets for direct reports.

* Schedule workload within the test department based on upcoming tests and ensure availability of required hardware and calibration of instruments to support those tests.

* Perform spot audits of test equipment for proper operation, calibration and adherence to safety policies and practices.

* Perform spot audits of instrumentation calibration records.

* Maintain current Quality Procedure manual and Bill Of Material paperwork in test office.

* Conduct periodic reviews with test department personnel to discuss upgrades of equipment, instrumentation, etc.

* Research, justify, procure, and implement CAR's for test department hardware.

* Perform yearly performance appraisals for direct reports, define, facilitate and measure performance and development goals.

* Attend daily, weekly, etc production and forecast meetings, attend safety committee meetings as well as staff and all-hands meetings as required.

* Implement safety based upgrades in test department.

* Assist in capacity planning for Operations department.

* Interact with 3rd party testing personnel and support request for test quotes.

* Support layout of test loops for 3rd party testing to develop cost.

* Coordinate with outside contractors to quote work in shop.

* Develop cost estimates for completion of testing service.

* Interact with customer(s) to win the order.

* Support 3rd party test projects with appropriate project manager and
*ther departments as required.

* Perform equipment repair when needed.

* Perform equipment calibration when needed.

* Support engineering, quality, etc when needed dealing with. customer issues- conference calls, answers to customer inquiries, etc

* Assist assembly/hydrotest departments as needed.

* Support/Fill in for test engineering as needed.

* Coordinate testing with Govt (DCMA) personnel as required.

* Provide guidance to purchasing, planning, quality, etc with any type of questions relating to testing, technical issues, etc.

* Manage CAR requests from when submitted until completion and labeling of the capital assets.

* Perform training sessions for test department or other operations departments as required

* Perform disciplinary actions as required for test department personnel.

* Attend EAC and ETC meetings to assist in project planning and cost control.

Your Expertise:

* Associate degree or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience.

* Basis knowledge of MS Office

* Mechanical, hydraulic, acoustics and electrical knowledge

* Experience working in a highly regulated environment

* Prior leadership experience

* Scheduling and planning skills

* Knowledge of instrumentation calibration

* Bills of Material

* Time management, organizational and communication skills

* Blue print reading

* Problem solving

* Training and coaching skills

* Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance

Desired Characteristics:

* Knowledge of rotating equipment; familiarity with pressure, temperature, power, and vibration measuring instruments, understanding of pump hydraulic and mechanical principles

* Experience working with military quality systems is desired

* Fluid dynamic background is an asset
