The Opportunity | Thermal Research Analyst
Location: Cheswick, PA (greater Pittsburgh area)
EMD is searching for a Thermal Analyst with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of five years of engineering analysis experience.
Your Challenge:
- Thermal analysis of rotating machinery and associated fluid systems
- Thermal support of components analyzed to the ASME Code as well as other pressure vessel and engineering codes
- Advanced thermal analysis of nuclear grade equipment for commercial and government applications
- Development of techniques for equipment thermal analysis to support design and mechanical analyses
- Modeling of equipment thermal performance and verification of models by test
Your Expertise:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Master's Degree or PhD is preferred
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis
- Experience with thermal analysis hand calculations
- Ability to model thermal performance of sophisticated systems
- Experience with ANSYS (APDL experience is an asset)
- Experience with WECAN and/or EMDAC finite element programs is an asset
- Commercial nuclear industry design and analysis experience is an asset
- Licensed Professional Engineer is an asset
- Currently working in a Research Lab or prior experience would be an asset
- Must be US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
