The Opportunity | Valve Automation Technician

Manufacture of components as well as assembly and testing of control valves with actuators. Installation and calibration of control instruments and positioners. Final function testing and preparing assemblies for delivery.

Your Challenge:

• Manufacture mounting kit components using manual lathe, CNC milling machine, broaching machine and other machines and tools as required
• Painting mounting kit components as required
• Mounting actuators, positioners, and instrumentation including tubing and electrical connections as required
• Calibration of positioners and other instruments
• Completing supporting documentation
• Packaging valves for shipping: attaching flow arrows, NACE tags, nameplates, nuts/mounting bolts, flange protectors and moving valves to shipping.
• Printing nameplates
• Working with stock room and assembly supervisors to ensure correct and expedient completion of assigned tasks
• Kanban sustainment and replenishment in the quarter turn area
• Ability to work from drawings or from sketches or written instructions
• Area and machine maintenance following set schedule and best practices

Your Expertise:

• 5-10 years of control valve assembly and instrumentation experience
• Quarter turn experience is preferred
• Experience with valve assembly
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and electric actuators
• Machining experience using manual and/or CNC machines
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

This position may require exposure to information, which is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must meet eligibility requirements of the ITAR and of the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD) and/or Canadian government security clearance.
