Electro-Mechanical Engineer

The Electro-Mechanical Engineer is part of the exciting, dynamic, and growing Design Engineering department at Curtiss-Wright Target Rock, and reports into the Design Engineering Manager. This critical role encompasses the design, analysis, and testing of the electronic components used for valve actuation and control as well as diagnostic testing of the finished products. The scope of activities includes both supporting and improving existing products, as well as the development of new products to meet the demands of modern customer specifications or strategic internal research and development initiatives. The position requires a close relationship with the end users to ensure the product performance and reliability meets customer expectations under the severe environmental conditions experienced in a nuclear power plant environment.

Your Challenge:

  • Improve existing product designs, documentation, work instructions, and fabrication/quality control processes
  • Work with customers to develop electronic products to help attain goals of longer equipment life, automation, and higher performing devices
  • Use modern design tools and processes to improve reliability and performance of electronic control devices
  • Upgrade existing product designs to meet new industry requirements such as EMI/RFI and ESD immunity
  • Innovate new products from ideation, prototyping, qualification testing, final design, and final launch to market
