We are looking for an Embedded Software Test Engineer at our Santa Clarita, CA facility. This is your opportunity to be innovative, flexible, self-directed and to bring your software engineering skills to our organization. You are a creative software developer who has a passion to invent, design and implement embedded software along with a curiosity and desire to learn.

You will develop software to test Single Board Computers (SBCs), Gigabit Ethernet, USB, 1553, SATA and RS232/RS484. Resourcefulness and ability to overcome new challenges using insightful design and engineering skills coupled with innovative approaches is required.

You are a team player willing to share, discuss and brainstorm ideas to define new products, product enhancements and process improvements.


  • Design, develop and test new software.

  • Support and enhance existing software.

  • Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement.

  • Analyze requirements and develop design alternatives.

  • Develop demonstration applications to support sales.

  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.

  • Provide input to architecture, design and code reviews.

  • Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.

  • Provide task breakdowns and accurate estimates for project planning.

  • Review and validation of software releases.

  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

  • Liaise with customers.


  • Labview/C programming

  • Experience with TestStand an asset.

  • Proven communication/interpersonal skills.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlines.

  • Knowledge of software engineering processes and standards.

  • Experience in the following is an asset:

    • Software configuration management tools (e.g SVN).

    • Software defect tracking tools (e.g Jira).

    • Requirements analysis and tracking

    • Task priority management and tracking

    • Windows development environments.

    • Reading/understanding IC datasheets, board schematics.

    • Diagnostic tools like Digital Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DVMs, etc.


  • Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) with minimum 6 years experience (Co-op experience is applicable)
