Mechanical Engineers

Produce complex designs while paying high attention to details. Produce designs using drawing standards (military or commercial), geometric dimensioning and tolerances and solid modelling (Pro/E) as applied to mechanical and hydraulic machinery in a naval or airborne equipment environment

  • Mechanical Engineer with bachelor's degree with more than 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Registration with PEO is desired.
  • Experience with drawing standards (military or commercial) and Pro/E.
  • Experience with naval or airborne machinery including winches, large projects and their management, as well as government and international customers would be an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing hydraulic and electrically driven machinery specifically for shipboard, airborne and submarine environments. Typically this is mechanisms, latches, linkages and basic structures. You would do the engineering and decision making while a mechanical designer assigned to you to detail the design in CAD under your supervision.
  • To support your designs you would perform force and motion calculations, and make decisions as to the most efficient design to meet cost, weight and manufacturability budgets. As with most designs, we used pre-engineer sub-system from other suppliers, so sizing and select components such as gear boxes, motors, actuators, cylinders etc. will be required.
  • Willingness to travel, when commissioning first-off systems overseas as well as supporting marketing efforts are very likely and offer a great chance to learn.
